For three days, residents and visitors can enjoy a program that includes the traditional opening speech, tributes to residents, activities for children, live music, popular gastronomy, open-air dances (verbenas), and a fireworks display.
The organization of these festivities is managed by the Granada City Council, through the Citizen Participation Area, in collaboration with the Cerrillo de Maracena Neighborhood Association and the neighborhood's social and commercial fabric.
The opening day, Friday, July 3rd, will feature the inauguration of the handicraft exhibition from the Pensioners' Home, the official opening ceremony, the opening speech by the neighborhood's pharmacist Isabel del Moral Ibáñez, tributes to residents, the election of the Festival Queens in various categories, and a performance by the orchestra Melodías, which will conclude the night with fireworks.
Saturday, July 4th, will begin with a chocolate tasting organized by the Neighborhood Association, followed by a crochet exhibition, a children's bull-running event (encierro infantil), a foam party, and water activities for the little ones. In the afternoon, there will be a tasting for the elderly and a popular verbena, again accompanied by the orchestra Melodías.
Sunday, July 5th, the final day of the festivities, will include an exhibition by the Local Police Canine Unit, children's games, a popular paella organized by the "La Terrona" Women's Assembly, and musical performances, concluding with a fireworks display.
