The club from La Línea announced this Saturday the renewal of the young Canary Islands goalkeeper, who will share the goal with Jesús López, recently signed from Arenas de Armilla.
Brian Mahugo, born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on July 3, 2004, developed in the youth academy of Club Deportivo Tenerife. He stood out for his reflexes and composure, becoming a starter in the Juvenil División de Honor during the 2021/22 season, where he kept a clean sheet in 14 out of 16 matches.
His progression led him to Tenerife B in the 2022/23 season, in Tercera Federación. In 2023/24, he was called up twice by the first team in LaLiga Hypermotion, although he did not make his debut.
Seeking playing time, he accepted the offer from Panadería Pulido San Mateo, where he became a key player, featuring in 21 matches in 2025/26. Last summer, he joined Balompédica, debuting in December and playing a total of 205 minutes across five games, conceding five goals.
The club highlights his professionalism, discipline, and dedication to daily work. With this renewal, there are now six players who wore the albinegro jersey last season and will continue with the team, joining the previous renewals of Ismael Martín, Diego Domínguez, Diego, Rubén Olea, and Leo Blasco.
The squad for the next season in Group X of Tercera Federación now totals seventeen known members, including the signings of Jesús López (goalkeeper), Matías Peña, Antonio Maldonado, and Paco Benítez (center-backs), Justice (winger), Víctor Martínez and Álvaro Rivero (right-backs), Francisco Lineros (left-back), Caio Peralta (forward), and midfielders Cachorro and Jan Reixach.
