This demand was made public through a manifesto read before hundreds of people gathered at the Casa García de Viedma in Armilla, during the collective's first meeting. The platform has also requested a meeting with the local Government team and the mayor to establish a mixed commission, including citizens and public representatives, to continuously monitor this claim.
“"We are not asking for a privilege, but a basic necessity and an essential infrastructure to guarantee the right to health."
The collective highlighted that, while other nearby municipalities see their projects advance and the Junta de Andalucía tenders new centers, Armilla, with over 26,000 inhabitants and a reference area for emergencies and specialties exceeding 150,000 people, remains stuck in promises and announcements. They emphasized the unacceptable situation of obsolete facilities, constant saturation, and professionals working at their limit.
The platform has stated that their movement will not stop until construction begins on the already allocated land. Their goal is to obtain "dates, budget, and works," calling on all citizens of Armilla, associations, health professionals, and collectives to join this cause, stressing that health is a right that affects everyone and that they will not tolerate further delays or excuses.
