The municipality of La Zubia is gearing up for a new regional election, with the Popular Party as the main favorite. In the 2022 elections, the popular party achieved a resounding victory in the town, securing 41.1% of the votes and leaving other formations with significantly less representation.
On that occasion, the PSOE positioned itself as the second most voted force with 21.9% of the votes, closely followed by Vox, which reached 15.7%. This result marked a clear distance between the two main parties and the rest of the political options.
However, Vox's trajectory in La Zubia shows remarkable growth. In the 2018 elections, the party was the fifth force with 12.3% of the votes. That year, the electoral landscape was more fragmented, with a four-way tie among the main formations, where Ciudadanos was the most voted party with 21.6%, followed by the PP (20.9%), the PSOE (20%), and Adelante Andalucía (18%).
Historically, La Zubia has been a scene of alternation between the PP and the PSOE. In 2015, both parties were in a technical tie, with the PSOE obtaining 28.9% and the PP 27.2%. In 2012, the PP won with 45% of the votes, while in 2008, both parties achieved 42.9% of the votes, reflecting great equality in citizen support.
