The town of Palma del Río became the national hub for Andalusian bowling by hosting the Spanish Individual Valley Championship. In this high-level event, Cordovan athletes delivered an outstanding performance, with Club El Calonge playing a leading role in both organization and results.
In the men's category, a player from the local club narrowly missed the title, achieving the best qualifying score of the championship with 289 pins. However, in an exciting final held at the Modesto Fernández Mendoza Bowling Alley, he lost by a close 2-1 to a competitor from Club Sierra Las Villas of Mogón (Jaén).
The overall performance of Club El Calonge was remarkable, accumulating a total of one gold, two silver, and one bronze medal. They particularly excelled in the women's category, where one of their players was crowned champion in the second women's division, leading an entirely local podium. Furthermore, the club also placed another member in fourth position in the top men's category, consolidating its presence among the national elite.
The club's success extended to the youth categories, demonstrating the strength of its academy. In the Spanish Youth Championship, Club El Calonge secured two national titles in junior female and junior male categories, in addition to three silver and three bronze medals, highlighting the excellent training work carried out in the province.
The hosting of this championship, for both senior and youth categories, reinforces Córdoba's position as a key reference in serrano bowling. The organizational capacity of Palma del Río, the high competitive level of its players, and the promising future of its youth academy consolidate the province as a fundamental pillar for the growth and projection of this indigenous sport at a national level.
