The Belmez City Council, in collaboration with academic and institutional entities, launches «Belmez de Leyenda. Historia y Tradición», a cultural initiative to be held during the month of August.

This proposal aims to bring the municipality's past closer to residents and visitors through a program of guided tours and informative talks, with the objective of fostering knowledge of local identity and highlighting the spaces, events, and traditions that have shaped its history.
The program includes several thematic routes guided by the Official Chronicler of the Villa, José Antonio Torquemada. Activities will begin on Thursday, August 6, with the route «Streets with their own name», focusing on the origin and meaning of urban nomenclature. On Thursday, August 13, the visit «The Civil War in Belmez» will take place, addressing this historical period. Subsequently, on Thursday, August 20, the «Water Route» will be held, focusing on the importance of this resource for the municipality's development.
Furthermore, on Tuesday, August 25, the Historical Museum of Belmez and the Mining Territory will host the conference «Belmez from the Origin». This talk will offer a journey through the evolution of the municipality's settlement from Prehistory to the present day, providing a global vision of its history and its importance within the Alto Guadiato territory.
The program stands out for its commitment to accessibility. On Thursday, August 27, an inclusive version of the Water Route will be offered, adapted for people with reduced mobility. This day will include a talk at the museum and a subsequent visit to the water reservoirs, enabling more people to enjoy local heritage on equal terms.
The tours, which will start at 8:00 PM, require prior registration through the platform enabled by the organization. Places are limited to 50 participants per activity to ensure a quality experience. The organization notes that routes may be subject to modification and reminds participants of the importance of activity insurance and the established donation for participation.
