The fire started at 5:00 PM this Saturday, July 4, in the Cordovan municipality of Los Blázquez. The rapid spread of the flames has triggered an emergency operation to attempt to stabilize the fire before the lack of sunlight prevents the operation of aerial assets.
The current deployment includes one semi-heavy helicopter, four ground-loading aircraft, and two light amphibious planes. On the ground, the operation is supported by 32 firefighting professionals and two fire engines working to contain the fire's advance in the Los Pedroches region.
