The penitentiary center in Alhaurín de la Torre has registered several incidents in recent days. A fight occurred in module 6 between several inmates, which center sources link to a possible settling of scores over debts. The intervention of prison staff controlled the situation, resulting in five inmates being transferred to the isolation area and some minor injuries, with no serious harm.
Additionally, last Thursday, officers seized a large stabbing weapon hidden in a water pallet destined for module 9. Investigations are underway to determine how the object was introduced into the center and who was responsible. The discovery is concerning due to its destination in module 9, considered one of the most conflict-ridden departments and recently the scene of another brawl.
The TAMPM union (Tu Abandono Me Puede Matar) points out that these episodes highlight the security challenges in the most conflict-prone modules. They warn that the repeated accumulation of coexistence incidents and the lack of early intervention can escalate conflicts, thus calling for reinforced prevention and control measures in departments with significant coexistence problems.
