The intervention began when a family member, located in Singapore, contacted the Local Police of Alhaurín el Grande to report a serious health situation involving a resident in the Málaga municipality. Officers promptly arrived at the address, but receiving no response, and fearing a life-threatening risk, decided to enter the dwelling.
To facilitate entry and gather crucial information, the officers maintained a WhatsApp video call with the family member in Singapore, who guided them during the initial moments. Once inside, they found the sole occupant in a state requiring immediate medical attention, prompting a request for an ambulance.
“"Inside the dwelling, officers found the sole occupant in a state requiring immediate medical attention. They requested the presence of an ambulance, and while the man was being attended to by health services, the police observed a loaded revolver, ready for use, on the hall table."
While the man received medical attention, officers noticed a loaded revolver in the hallway. After seizing it preventively, and once the affected individual was transferred to the hospital, the case was reported to the Guardia Civil.
The subsequent investigation, conducted by the Guardia Civil, confirmed that the British citizen lacked the necessary permits for possessing weapons in Spain. This finding justified a thorough search of the property, which revealed the true extent of the arsenal.
During the search, another revolver and a pistol were found, both with ammunition. Additionally, over a thousand cartridges of various calibers were seized, including high-power projectiles compatible with long-barreled weapons, as reported by the Málaga Command. In total, three firearms were confiscated, all loaded and ready for immediate use. The accumulation of this material, without proper legal authorization, led to the resident being investigated for an alleged crime of illegal arms possession, with proceedings forwarded to the competent judicial authority.
