The construction of two solar plants on the lands of Llanos de Chiribaile, located in El Padul, has received all necessary legal approvals for its development. This project has sparked considerable debate within the local community and among environmental organizations.
The organization Ecologistas en Acción filed an administrative appeal to try and halt what they describe as a "degradation of our regional values." Their argument was based on doubts regarding the declaration of public utility for the affected lands. However, their appeals were dismissed by the competent authorities.
In response to this situation, the environmental group has decided to support residents affected by the expropriation of their lands. They are currently accompanying these neighbors in the legal process they have initiated to defend their properties and the natural environment.
The landscape, accessible via the Carretera de la Cabra, maintains an almost pristine appearance this spring, characterized by the presence of almond and olive trees. Despite its beauty, the landscape already features some structures like electricity towers and wind turbines, which will now be joined by the new photovoltaic installations.
