The incident took place in the early hours of this Thursday, when the 112 Andalucía emergency service received an alert at 03:40 AM. The call reported a fire on the second floor of an apartment building on Damián Pérez Street in Lucena.
According to reports, the tenant of the dwelling attempted to extinguish the flames, which led to smoke inhalation. Following the alert, personnel from the Lucena Fire Department, the 061 Health Emergency Center, the National Police, and the Local Police were rapidly mobilized.
The fire, the exact causes of which have not yet been determined, originated in the living room of the property. Firefighters carried out cooling and ventilation tasks in the home to secure the area.
The affected individual, a 46-year-old man, was evacuated to Infanta Margarita Hospital in Cabra to receive medical attention for smoke inhalation.
