The project, awarded to Limonta Sport Ibérica SL, will involve an investment of 290,392 euros, representing a saving of nearly 80,000 euros compared to the tender budget. The company will also provide an extended five-year warranty and reduce the execution period from the initially planned 60 days to a maximum of 30 days. Work is expected to commence in the coming weeks and be completed before the end of the year.
The track, measuring 400 meters in circumference with six lanes (eight on the 100-meter straight), will feature a new blue finish. The renovation also includes improvements to the long jump, high jump, and pole vault areas, as well as the water jump, and the addition of a dedicated shot put zone.
These enhancements are in addition to other projects at the Ciudad Deportiva, such as the upcoming renewal of lighting for the four towers of field 2, funded by the Provincial Council of Córdoba with an approximate investment of 85,000 euros. The Councilor for Sports, Ángel Novillo, highlighted that these interventions are part of a progressive improvement plan for the municipal sports facilities.
Other recent or ongoing actions include the construction of a bar-cafeteria, the enclosure of semi-covered courts, repairs to the indoor football court, and upgrades to the boiler and indoor swimming pool. Novillo stated that the goal is to provide the best possible conditions for athletes and sports clubs.
