The Priego City Council held an event to present the distinctions of the Integral System of Tourist Quality in Destinations (SICTED) to companies and tourism services affiliated with the program. During the ceremony, details were shared about the upcoming changes to this quality system.
The municipal Tourism technician, Lucía González, explained that the program is undergoing a transition to a new model. While retaining the SICTED acronym, it will be renamed the System of Sustainability, Intelligence, and Tourism Quality in the Destination Ecosystem. This shift will require both the City Council and affiliated companies to adapt to a new platform and updated work procedures.
The process is expected to resume after the summer, once the peak tourist season concludes, with the goal of fully implementing the new system throughout 2026. The event also recognized the commitment of tourism companies and services that have renewed or maintained their quality distinctions.
Among those recognized were tourist accommodations, rural houses, guided tour companies, museums, taxis, and hospitality establishments. Additionally, a new promotional brochure featuring all distinguished companies was presented and will be available at the Tourist Office.
The mayor, Juan Ramón Valdivia, highlighted the business community's dedication to the continuous improvement of tourism quality. He emphasized that this collaborative effort has established Priego de Córdoba as a leading destination in SICTED system implementation, reinforcing the municipality's image as a quality tourist destination.
