The 2026-2027 school year began today for 5,902 students in Sanlúcar enrolled in Early Childhood and Primary Education. Provisional figures indicate that 1,610 students are in Early Childhood and 4,292 in Primary at the city's educational centers.
The mayor, Carmen Álvarez, accompanied by the municipal delegate for Education, Carmen Pozo, visited the CEIP Guadalquivir. There, with its director, José Alberto Moreno, she observed the progress of the opening day at this center and others across the town.
Carmen Álvarez emphasized that the start of the school year proceeded normally. She assured that the City Council had worked to ensure the schools were ready, mentioning enhanced cleaning services and repairs carried out in five centers.
The mayor reiterated the municipal commitment to the educational community, citing the request for Social Integration Technical Personnel (PTIS) to the Regional Government of Andalusia, which is crucial for students with special educational needs.
