The program, organized by the Tourism Delegation, aims to consolidate the active and rural tourism offerings in the town and its districts, following the success of its first edition. The Councilor for Tourism, Francisco Barbancho, highlighted the growing popularity of hiking and the council's commitment to experiences linked to the natural environment of Lucena, Las Navas del Selpillar, and Jauja.
The new edition will begin this Sunday, May 24, with a route through the Sierra de Aras. Throughout 15 planned itineraries until December, participants can explore locations such as Cerro Malabrigo, Martín González, La Primera Cruz, Vado de los Bueyes, Cerro de las Puertas, Cruz del Francés, Barro y la Cerámica, Puente Povedano, the Genil River, or the Sierra de Araceli, combining sports with heritage visits.
As a main novelty, the cycle incorporates astronomical tourism activities, leveraging the Starlight certification of the Mancomunidad de la Subbética. Several routes will include guided night sky observation by specialists. Additionally, birdwatching will be offered on the route along the Genil River in Jauja, reinforcing the program's environmental and educational component.
All routes are free and will be conducted in small groups of 35 people to ensure safety. Registrations will open on the 1st of each month at 10:00 AM via the website turlucena.com.
