The Lucena Town Hall has approved the application for two grants from the Junta de Andalucía for the ‘Lucena Crece I’ and ‘Lucena Crece II’ programs, which will train and provide professional practice to 30 unemployed individuals for one year.

The programs ‘Lucena Crece I’ and ‘Lucena Crece II’, approved in the Lucena Town Hall Plenary Session, aim to improve the labor market integration of unemployed people through a combination of training and professional practice. The first project targets long-term unemployed individuals between 30 and 44 years old, while the second focuses on those under 30.
Each program will accommodate 15 participants and last for 12 months. The training will focus on two professional certificates in the construction sector: ‘Auxiliary Operations for Continuous Construction Coatings’ (level 1, 360 hours) and ‘Paving and Urbanization Masonry’ (level 2, 340 hours).
This initiative addresses the need for qualified personnel in the construction sector and the goal of facilitating access to the job market. The total investment for both programs amounts to 769,981.26 euros, with a municipal contribution of 37,612.56 euros, spread across the fiscal years 2027 and 2028. Expenses cover management, support, and training staff, training and operational costs, and the trainees' work-study contracts.
Furthermore, the Plenary ratified the proposal to study modifications to the Municipal Ordinance on Urban Hygiene concerning the use of mechanical blowers. The initiative seeks to limit their use to reduce the dispersion of dust, particles, and allergens, particularly between April and June, in parks, gardens, and areas with dirt or gravel surfaces, as well as in certain narrow residential streets.
Exceptions are considered for justified situations previously authorized by municipal services, such as cleaning after public events, force majeure, emergencies, or extraordinary weather phenomena. The agreement, unanimously approved by the Works, Cleaning, and Maintenance Committee, will be forwarded to the Operational Services Delegation to initiate the modification process of the ordinance.
