This initiative, developed in collaboration with the Aras Musical ensemble, aims to offer a complete sensory experience, allowing visitors to emotionally connect with the city's monumental spaces through music.
The series, now in its second edition after last year's success, comprises five concerts scheduled between April and December. These events will take place in historically significant heritage sites, contributing to the de-seasonalization of tourist offerings and solidifying Lucena's position as a quality cultural tourism destination.
“"This project offers a complete sensory experience where visitors not only listen to music but also emotionally connect with the city's monumental spaces."
The musical repertoire will combine local traditional pieces with compositions linked to Lucena's history and popular celebrations, creating a synergy between sound and environment that invites listeners to “hear the city's history through each string.”
The first concert will be held this Wednesday, April 22, at the Parroquia del Carmen, titled De la Sierra al Carmelo, commemorating the 175th anniversary of the patronage of the Virgen de Araceli. Subsequent events will be at the Alfar Romano de los Tejares in July, the Ermita de la Aurora in October, the Parroquia de Santiago in November, and will conclude in December with a Christmas carols concert at San Agustín.
With this proposal, the Lucena City Council seeks to foster identity tourism, attract visitors, and enhance local heritage through unique experiences, transforming monuments into vibrant stages for the enjoyment of both residents and tourists.
