Lucena will be a protagonist in the VII Subbética Cycling Challenge-Gran Premio Diputación de Córdoba, taking place from September 11th to 13th with 23 teams and around 170 riders.
The city in Córdoba will host the second stage of this junior competition on Saturday, September 12th. The stage will cover 122 kilometers, starting and finishing at Ronda del Valle, offering spectators the chance to see young cyclists with significant national projection up close.
This Lucena stage will be the longest of the three competition days. The route will pass through several municipalities in the Subbética region before returning to Lucena, featuring a demanding course with several climbs and intermediate sprints. The start is scheduled for 10:20 AM from Ronda del Valle, near the IES Clara Campoamor, which will also host the finish line and the subsequent podium ceremony.

The competition will cover a total of approximately 310 kilometers and over 6,000 meters of elevation gain. The first stage will take place in Priego de Córdoba, and the final stage in Cabra, with the climb to the Santuario de la Virgen de la Sierra as the decisive point. Lucena thus consolidates itself as a key hub for fans and the public.
