The 2026 Tour of Spain will have special prominence in the province of Seville. Stage 17, scheduled for next September 9, will traverse 17 Sevillian municipalities on a route designed to be the flattest in the entire competition.
The peloton will begin its route in Dos Hermanas and head towards the capital, passing through towns such as Utrera, Morón de la Frontera, Carmona, Alcalá de Guadaíra, and La Rinconada, among others. The finish line will be located on Paseo Colón, in front of the iconic Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza in Seville.
The president of the Provincial Council of Seville, Javier Fernández, highlighted the event's importance, calling it a "festival for fans" and an "opportunity to showcase the province to the world," enhancing the "Seville brand" and projecting it internationally as a tourist attraction and an economic incentive for hospitality.
The Sevillian stage, with a profile favorable to cyclists, will include a special sprint in La Rinconada, which will award bonus seconds for the general classification and points for the Regularity classification. Later, the race will enter the city of Seville to tackle its final eleven kilometers, passing through recognizable landmarks like Triana, the Torre del Oro, or the Puente del Cristo de la Expiración.
The 2026 Tour of Spain will commence on August 22 and conclude on September 13, covering a total of 21 stages and 3,275 kilometers. The stage through Seville promises an exciting sprint finish, where specialists will vie for victory.
