Iznájar will once again become a hub for live music this summer with the sixth edition of Iznajazz, scheduled from August 28-30. The festival, managed by the Asociación Cultural Allá Orillas with the organization of the Iznájar City Council, the collaboration of the Provincial Council of Córdoba and the IAE, and the support of private entities, reaffirms its commitment to offering a quality artistic proposal in a privileged setting, where music intertwines with the municipality's rich heritage, stunning landscape, and daily life.
With free access to all activities and concerts until full capacity is reached, Iznajazz has established itself as one of the most prominent cultural events of late summer in Andalusia. Each year, it attracts residents, visitors, and jazz enthusiasts who find a unique, accessible, and open-to-all musical proposal in Iznájar.
Throughout its six editions, the festival has explored various facets of jazz and fusion music, maintaining an eclectic and high-quality program. This year's theme will be Latin jazz and Cuban music, featuring a lineup that combines renowned artists with emerging projects, offering a sonic journey through this musical universe.
The program will kick off on Friday with an introductory workshop on Cuban son, led by dancer and choreographer Ana Laura Martínez. This participatory activity aims to introduce the public to one of Cuba's most iconic dances. That same evening, Ede y Fe Quinteto will perform with their "jazz in Spanish" proposal, followed by Timbalito Street Cuartet, a group that blends tradition and modernity in Cuban popular music.
On Saturday, music will fill the streets with Brassbandicot, whose inspiration from New Orleans brass bands will bring jazz to street level. Later, one of the most anticipated performances will take place: Cuban pianist Daniel Amat, currently a member of Buena Vista Social Club, will take the stage with double bassist Francis Posé and drummer Jessie Valdés in a concert dedicated to Latin jazz and Cuban music. The day will conclude with La Quinta Sonera, offering a show focused on salsa and Caribbean rhythms.
The festival's closing on Sunday will feature a performance by Slands Project, led by Juan Slands, an Andalusian musician based in Barcelona with family roots in Iznájar, who will present his debut album in Andalusia for the first time. As is tradition, the festival will conclude with the popular Paejazz, a fusion of gastronomy and live music at Playa de Valdearenas, which has become one of the most special and participatory moments of the weekend.
In addition to concerts, Iznajazz continues its commitment to parallel activities that enrich the audience's experience, such as the photography contest "Tu Iznajazz." This initiative invites participants to capture the essence of the festival and its venues, strengthening the link between music, heritage, and citizen participation.
Beyond its artistic dimension, Iznajazz has become a significant showcase for Iznájar. The festival annually boosts the municipality's tourism and economic activity, highlighting its public spaces and consolidating a cultural offering that combines quality, proximity, and a privileged environment.
