The Cabra City Council has launched the 2026 Local SME Aid Plan, increasing its budget to 250,000 euros to support the self-employed and small businesses.

The local government has announced the initiative, representing a 50,000 euro increase from the previous edition. The plan targets the self-employed, entrepreneurs, small businesses, job creation, and the maintenance of commercial premises in the city.
Mayor Fernando Priego, accompanied by delegate Toñi García, highlighted the 25% increase in funding. The plan retains its four aid lines, reinforcing budgets and individual amounts for the first two. Applications will be accepted from the day after publication in the BOP of Córdoba until October 5th, aiming to accommodate participation during the holiday period and the Real Feria y Fiestas.
The first line, for newly created businesses, has 45,000 euros (5,000 more than in 2025), with individual grants of 1,500 euros, benefiting approximately 30 new ventures. The second line, aimed at young people under 35 and women over 45, also has 45,000 euros and the same individual grant, expected to support around 30 entrepreneurs. Both lines require expenses to be justified by invoices paid via bank transfer.
The third line maintains 20,000 euros to encourage hiring and increased working hours, with grants of up to 2,000 euros per full-time contract if the employee establishes residency in Cabra. Around 15 contracts are expected to be supported.
The fourth line, for commercial premises rental, sees the largest budget growth, increasing from 100,000 to 140,000 euros (a 40% rise). Self-employed individuals and SMEs with fiscal domicile in Cabra, having a minimum 12-month rental contract and committing to maintain activity for another 12 months, are eligible. Approximately 70 businesses are expected to benefit.
Overall, the plan will support around 145 initiatives, including new businesses, entrepreneurial projects, contracts, and commercial establishments. The Mayor emphasized the City Council's financial commitment to supporting local commerce and businesses, which are crucial for the city's growth and employment, aiming to foster entrepreneurship, create jobs, and retain the population.
