The fire, which began within the municipality of Vélez Rubio, is the second forest fire reported in the province of Almería today. At present, no resident evacuations have been necessary.
According to information from the Andalusian Emergency Service (112), the fire is located in the area known as El Chirivelico. Resources deployed to combat the flames include a team of forest firefighters, a support group, an operations technician, a fire engine, and a light helicopter.
This incident follows another forest fire that also required Infoca's intervention earlier today in the municipality of Sorbas, which started at 10:00 AM and was stabilized by 12:20 PM.
