During the first weekend of October, the ALPESA Canine Rescue Unit and the ALPESA Air Unit conducted a multidisciplinary drill in Guillena. The event, aimed at improving preparation, coordination, and response capabilities for various emergency situations, was supported by the Guillena City Council and the Guillena Civil Protection Volunteers Group.
The presentation took place at the La Estación Civic Center, attended by the mayor of Guillena and the councilor for Citizen Security, Manuel Jara. Participants included Civil Protection Volunteers from various towns, Firefighters from Portugal, the National Police, SOS, and the Alpesa Canine Rescue Unit.
Over three days, teams practiced search, location, and rescue exercises for people, simulating scenarios requiring coordinated intervention from land, canine, and air resources. The drills were carried out in the restricted section of the Ruta del Agua and the surrounding area of the El Gergal reservoir.
