The sculpture, to be located in the Plaza de la Cultura, is a public recognition part of the 'Guillena es Música' Cultural Music Route, highlighting the town's musical tradition. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd.
Prior to the unveiling, several bands will perform a musical parade through different areas of Guillena. Participants include the ‘Villa de Guillena’ Music Band, the ‘Músicos Veteranos de Olmo y Familia Olmo’ Band, and the Unión Cumbres Mayores-Higuera la Real Band.
The musical tribute will conclude with a joint performance of the pasodoble ‘Maestro Olmo’, conducted by his son, José Olmo Caro.

Francisco Olmo Sosa, born in Guillena on July 7, 1921, was a key figure in local music. He played the tuba in the early Guillena Music Band and, after training with prominent musicians, directed the Municipal Band and the Guillena Musical Association from 1959 to 1994, later becoming honorary director. He passed away on December 19, 2007.
‘Maestro Olmo’ was a benchmark for young musicians. During his lifetime, he received several tributes, including the inauguration of the municipal auditorium bearing his name in 1998 and the Band Competition. Guillena remembers his life dedicated to music.
The ‘Guillena es Música’ Cultural Music Route already included a sculpture in the Plaza de España in March 2024 dedicated to José Velázquez Alfaro (1900-1995), the first director of the Guillena Music Band.
