Sevilla is preparing for a new week marked by high pressure and a progressive rise in temperatures. The arrival of warmer air masses will cause heat to become intense again by the end of the week. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated yellow alerts in the province for high temperatures for at least three consecutive days.
On Monday, June 29, skies will be mostly clear with some cloud development in Sierra Morena. Maximum temperatures will rise to 39ºC in the Guadalquivir plains. The Aemet alert will be in effect from 13:00 to 21:00, with 40ºC forecast for Lora del Río.
On Tuesday, June 30, tropical night values are expected, between 21ºC and 23ºC. During the day, the heat will intensify again, with yellow alerts in the plains and the Sierra Norte, where temperatures could briefly reach 40 degrees. Locations such as Lora del Río and Gerena will register up to 40ºC.
The start of July will bring widespread tropical nights on Wednesday, July 1, which could be torrid in municipalities like Osuna (26ºC). The Sevillian plains will remain under yellow alert during the central hours of the day, with several towns reaching the 40-degree threshold, including Lora del Río (41ºC) and Coria del Río, Dos Hermanas, Alcalá de Guadaíra, among others (40ºC).
From Thursday, July 2, temperatures will continue to rise, with minimums of up to 25ºC in Sevilla and maximums between 40ºC and 42ºC in the Guadalquivir valley. The early morning of Friday, July 3, will again be generally torrid, with minimums of 26ºC in Sevilla or 25ºC in Carmona, Utrera, and Morón de la Frontera. Sunday, July 4, is expected to be the hottest day of the week, with maximums reaching up to 43ºC in Lora del Río and 42ºC in Marchena.
