The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated orange alerts for this Wednesday, July 1st, in the northern sierra and the Sevillian countryside, with predicted maximum temperatures of up to 41ºC and 40ºC, respectively. The southern sierra will be on yellow alert, with maximums of up to 38ºC.
A stationary anticyclonic ridge will favor the descent and drying of air, preventing renewal and reinforcing the 'heat dome' effect. Temperatures are expected to reach or exceed 40 degrees in most of the Guadalquivir valley.
The early mornings of Thursday, July 2nd, and Friday, July 3rd, will be tropical or torrid, with minimums of up to 25ºC in the provincial capital and Écija. Although maximums might slightly decrease on Friday, high values are expected, with the possibility of reaching 42ºC in Lora del Río.
The Andalusia Emergency Agency (EMA) recommends maintaining good hydration, avoiding going out during the central hours of the day, closing windows and blinds, and protecting oneself from the sun, especially for vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly.
The main recommendations include drinking water every two hours, prioritizing light and cool meals, using a fan or air conditioning, and exercising in the early morning or at dusk.
