The municipality of El Castillo de las Guardas, located in the Sierra Morena of Seville, is commemorating the 375th anniversary of its establishment as a town throughout May, emphasizing its history and heritage.

The town of El Castillo de las Guardas is preparing to celebrate a significant milestone: the 375th anniversary of its constitution as a town, a period spanning from 1651 to 2026. This commemoration, which will take place throughout the month of May, aims to highlight the rich history, cultural heritage, and identity of this Sevillian enclave.
To mark this special occasion, a series of conferences and various cultural activities have been organized. The program will feature prominent figures from academic and legal fields, offering a space for reflection and knowledge on the historical evolution of the municipality and its current relevance.
Among the scheduled activities, which will run from Thursday, May 7, to Saturday, May 30, 2026, are several talks given by experts in different subjects. It is worth noting that the town council will provide a free bus service for residents who need to travel to Seville, where some of the presentations will take place.

"The program aims to reinforce knowledge of the municipality's past and collective legacy, while also creating a meeting point between citizens and relevant figures from the cultural and institutional spheres."

The inaugural conference, titled “The Roman hoard of El Castillo de las Guardas, currently preserved in the Museum of Fine Arts of Seville,” will be delivered by a doctor in Art History and Law. It will take place on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 8:00 PM in the Church of San Luis de los Franceses in Seville. Other talks will address topics such as “Women and Power” and “Women in the Rural World,” led by a magistrate and a lawyer, respectively. The cycle will conclude with the presentation of a book about the town and its illustrious figures, by a magistrate of the High Court of Justice of Andalusia. The remaining activities will be held at the Ana María Delgado Romero Multipurpose Municipal Center in El Castillo de las Guardas.
