The operation, the result of over a year of investigation, led to the seizure of large quantities of substances such as cocaine, MDMA, marijuana, and hashish. Additionally, weapons, vehicles, video surveillance and tracking systems, and over 200,000 euros in cash were confiscated, highlighting the scale of the illicit activities.
The operations, named Samsara and Mendoza, were carried out jointly by the UDYCO Torremolinos-Benalmádena group, the 1st Narcotics Group of the Provincial Police Station of Córdoba, and the Narcotics Group of the Local Police Station of Linares (Jaén). These units coordinated their efforts upon detecting the activity of two criminal groups operating in the same area and period, dedicated to the acquisition, transport, and preparation of drugs for medium and small-scale distribution in various Andalusian localities.
Operation Mendoza, which began in January 2025, focused on ringleaders based on the Costa del Sol. Police work allowed for the identification of the network's members, who were responsible for the transport, storage, preparation, and distribution of the substances. A modus operandi was discovered that included acquiring drugs on the Costa del Sol and Granada, with payments made in installments or even through vehicles imported from Germany, distributing the merchandise to properties and homes in Málaga, Jaén, and Córdoba.
During this phase, agents intercepted two drug shipments, seizing 2,000 grams of cocaine, over 100 grams of hashish, and 8 grams of pink cocaine. A second intervention added another 1,000 grams of cocaine. The exploitation phase concluded last month with fifteen home searches in Málaga, Benalmádena, Mijas, Fuengirola, and Marbella, and the arrest of 10 people. 273 grams of cocaine, 15 grams of pink cocaine, 2,000 grams of hashish, 2,041 grams of marijuana buds, anabolic steroids, over 86,000 euros in cash, 600 pounds, and 22,000 dirhams, 7 vehicles, 2 high-end watches, geolocation devices, a pellet gun, and a taser gun, as well as numerous mobile phones and communication equipment, were seized.
Regarding Operation Samsara, detected in March 2025, it focused on another organized group in the same area. The investigation was more complex due to its rural location but allowed for the identification of the members and their modus operandi for acquiring drugs on the Costa del Sol and Antequera, transporting them to Linares and Villanueva de la Reina in Jaén, and Priego de Córdoba. In this operation, 3,253 grams of cocaine and over 7,000 euros in cash were seized.
