Works on the section of the A-303, which remains closed to traffic for its first two kilometers within the municipality of Guarromán, are progressing significantly. This intervention is crucial to restore the road infrastructure affected by intense rainfall and the increased flow of the Guadiel River earlier this year.
The territorial delegate for Public Works, Territorial Planning and Housing, accompanied by the responsible technicians, has overseen the progress of the works. During the visit, the mayor of Guarromán was informed about the status of the intervention, allowing him to relay this information to the local residents.
The rise of the Guadiel River caused significant damage to the infrastructure over the riverbed, leading to the collapse of the road at kilometer 1, at the exit of the municipality. Given this situation, the Ministry of Public Works, Territorial Planning and Housing proceeded to close the road to ensure safety.
Once the river diversion is completed, efforts are focused on constructing a new foundation using riprap and concrete. On this base, the frames that will form the new structure will be placed, after which the complete restoration of the road platform will be carried out, ensuring its durability and resilience against future adverse weather conditions.
