The Asturian driver claimed victory at the 43rd Sierra Morena Rally, an event he had previously won in 2021. The win, which follows a third-place finish last year, was celebrated with great euphoria upon crossing the finish line in Villanueva del Rey.
“"I feel incredible. I wasn't thinking about driving; all I was thinking about was my father, my mother, Pablo Marcos, Cándido Carrera, my former co-driver. I was thinking about everyone who once bet on a Spanish driver to compete and win internationally. We've achieved it, and all of this is for them."
This success marks the driver's first victory in a European Rally Championship event, an achievement he savors with particular satisfaction in the Cordoban region.
Another driver finished in second place, also expressing satisfaction despite the tough competition. A Finnish driver completed the podium in third, highlighting his return to asphalt racing and the challenges overcome during the weekend to achieve his goal.
