Agents from the ROCA Team of the Civil Guard in La Carolina, as part of operation «Blashand», have arrested two individuals and investigated five more for alleged crimes of belonging to a criminal organization, public health offenses related to drug trafficking and cannabis cultivation, as well as electricity fraud.
The investigation began last May after detecting indications of a group allegedly dedicated to cannabis cultivation and the distribution and sale of narcotics in the town of Baños de la Encina. Investigations determined it was a structured organization with differentiated and coordinated roles focused on cannabis cultivation, elaboration, distribution, and sale.
The Civil Guard concluded this operation by carrying out two searches in properties within the town. In one of the properties, used as a drug sales point, agents seized 53 grams of cocaine, along with cash, bladed weapons, precision scales, packaging, and utensils for dosing substances, as well as various documents with annotations related to sales accounting and control.
In the second property, an indoor cannabis plantation was discovered, where 737 marijuana plants and abundant cultivation material were seized, including halogen lamps, transformers, air conditioning units, fans, and air extractors.
The electrical installation supplying the lighting, climate control, and ventilation systems was illegally connected to the supply network via an "illegal hook-up." The detected fraud exceeds 20,000 euros, corresponding to unbilled electricity consumption.
The proceedings, along with the arrested and investigated individuals and seized items, have been handed over to the competent judicial authority.
