The plenary session of the Carboneros Town Council, in the province of Jaén, has ratified the appointment of a prominent FC Barcelona footballer as Adoptive Son of the town and ambassador for the Nuevas Poblaciones de Sierra Morena. This agreement, adopted during the session on April 13, 2026, aims to honor both his successful sports career and the principles of self-improvement and humility he embodies.
“"We not only want to highlight his sporting talent but also his example of overcoming challenges, hard work, and humility, values that directly connect with the spirit that defines the town under its motto: «we were born with the charter for the concord of peoples»."
The mayor of Carboneros expressed his satisfaction with this distinction, emphasizing that the recognition is a source of pride for the entire region. The decision highlights the player's connection with the ideals of the municipality, which are based on concord and effort.
The footballer, born in El Campillo, Huelva, in 2003, developed his training in various Andalusian youth academies before joining La Masía of FC Barcelona in 2016. A turning point in his career was his loan to Linares Deportivo during the 2022-2023 season. During his time with the Linares team, which competes in Primera RFEF, the midfielder played nearly 40 matches, scored 12 goals, and provided several assists, consolidating himself as a key figure and demonstrating his worth in a more demanding environment.
His remarkable performance in Linares caught the attention of the then-coach of FC Barcelona, who decided to incorporate him into the first team after an outstanding preseason. In a short period, the player went from competing in Primera RFEF to playing matches in LaLiga and the Champions League. The date for the official award ceremony will be coordinated soon between the player's representative and the mayor of Carboneros.
