The acting spokesperson for the Andalusian Executive, Carolina España, has urged for swift action to finalize negotiations and approve the upcoming budgets. "If we want them to come into effect on January 1st, it is advisable to have a government this July," she stated, acknowledging that "we are already somewhat behind schedule" for the 2027 fiscal year.
Both the Popular Party and Vox acknowledge that discussions to form the future Andalusian government "are progressing well," but the final stages could delay the agreement. The spokesperson used a play on words related to a Vox demand to emphasize the need to finalize the alliance: "The priority is to approve the budgets."
España is confident in presenting the accounts "in due time," relying on her team's capabilities, although the delay is evident. Unlike the previous term, where the PP's absolute majority facilitated budget adjustments without major issues, the current situation requires a more agile agreement.

In other news, the Regional Government of Andalusia has announced an investment of 776 million euros for a new social contract to guarantee 26,328 places for dependent elderly individuals in residences and day centers. These places will be divided between residential care (18,540) and day centers (7,788), representing an increase of 2,000 places compared to the current social contract.
The new contract, set to take effect on October 1, 2026, with an initial term of two years extendable up to 2030, will allocate 603.9 million euros to residential care services and 172 million euros to day centers.
The spokesperson addressed the media following the Governing Council meeting, which had to convene an extraordinary session on Tuesday to file an objection to the 2026-2030 State Housing Plan before the deadline.
