The Provincial Jabega Boat League competition, organized by the Traditional Rowing and Paddle Club La Carihuela and the Traditional Rowing Association (ART) with support from the Málaga Provincial Council, was significantly affected by increasing easterly winds. Conditions, initially favorable, progressively worsened, leading to the cancellation of the men's absolute race due to safety concerns.
In the women's veterans category, La Cala del Moral's teams A and B demonstrated their strength by taking the top two spots, with La Araña B securing third place in a closely contested race. Meanwhile, Torre del Mar A maintained its dominance in the men's veterans category, winning decisively ahead of La Araña and La Cala del Moral.
The cadet category saw a surprise victory for Torre del Mar, breaking the streak of La Cala del Moral A, which finished second. In the women's junior category, La Cala del Moral claimed first place after a tough competition against Torre del Mar, with Pedregalejo taking third. La Cala del Moral also secured a win in the men's junior category, finishing ahead of Torre del Mar, and IES El Palo came in third.
The women's absolute category was dominated by Pedregalejo, whose rowers, nicknamed "tiburonas" (sharks), achieved a substantial lead over second-place finisher La Cala del Moral. La Araña reached the podium in this category for the first time this season, finishing third.
The event concluded with the trophy ceremony. The next fixture of the 14th Provincial Jabega Boat League is scheduled for Saturday, June 27th, with the Gran Premio Rincón de la Victoria, marking the season's midpoint.
