From May 6th to 7th, over thirty professionals will gather in Villamartín to analyze the trends transforming rural tourism in Spain. The congress, promoted by EscapadaRural, will focus on redefining the sector in a context of digitalization, the role of major events, and the evolution of traveler motivations.
The program will be structured around three main axes: the analysis of the new rural tourist profile, their habits and motivations; the impact of extraordinary events as drivers for tourist destinations, including demand peaks in hotels or natural phenomena; and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in tourism management, promotion, and commercialization.
Among the highlighted contents will be the presentation of the Rural Tourism Observatory report, the most extensive research project in this field in the country. Round tables and debates will also be held on how destinations can adapt their offerings to current demands, online experience planning, and the challenges and opportunities presented by special events for territories.
The congress will feature institutional spokespersons, such as the technical director of the Provincial Tourism Board of Cádiz and the tourism director of the public company for tourism and sports management in Andalucía. This edition is supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Andalucía Exterior of the Junta de Andalucía and the Provincial Tourism Board of the Diputación Provincial de Cádiz.
Additionally, other tourism entities will join, such as the Marketing and Tourism Product Service of the Government of Navarra, which will present its regenerative tourism strategy, and the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, which will explain its progress towards a rural tourism model based on sustainability and accessibility.
