Antonio Sanz, also the head of the PP list for the province of Cádiz, affirmed that these mobilizations aim to "discredit" healthcare and "permanently attack healthcare professionals," as well as the Andalusian Government led by Juanma Moreno.
“"It seems to me that it is part of the electoral campaign and, therefore, it is an electoral campaign mobilization."
The councillor questioned the "zero credibility" of the PSOE-A candidate for the Junta, María Jesús Montero, regarding healthcare. He insisted that the left has an "obsession with attacking public healthcare" and that "not everything is valid to try to win votes" when professionals are attacked and a healthcare system that, according to him, has achieved a "historic agreement" with unions is sought to be discredited.
Sanz highlighted that Andalucía is investing more than ever in healthcare, with 16.2 billion euros, and that 10,500 positions have been offered in public employment. He concluded that, although he respects the mobilizations, they "respond exclusively to the obsession with attacking the Government of Juanma Moreno."
“"Montero's credibility regarding healthcare in Andalucía is zero, but, above all, healthcare professionals know her very well."
Furthermore, Sanz accused Montero of a "lack of understanding of reality" when discussing issues such as the 10 minutes dedicated to patients, which, he claims, "are already underway." He also criticized her management of waiting lists during her time as Health councillor, stating that she "shelved more than 500,000 Andalusians."
The councillor recalled that María Jesús Montero's period as councillor (between 2010 and 2018) was "the worst for budget cuts in healthcare," with a reduction of 1.59 billion euros and 7,773 healthcare professionals. For Sanz, this "curriculum of destruction" "disqualifies" her from improving public healthcare.
