The Municipal Government of Chiclana has lamented the 'double standards' that, in its opinion, the Popular Party and Vox are practicing. During the plenary session held yesterday, both opposition parties voted in favor of two motions presented by the PSOE Municipal Group. The first requested the Junta de Andalucía to provide the necessary funding for dependency care services and to reduce waiting lists. The second called for adequate specialized personnel for students with specific educational support needs (NEAE) in the city's educational centers.
Both proposals were unanimously approved. The local government points out that while the PP and Vox vote in favor of these initiatives in the Plenary, such as the Barrancos road or the La Cucarela health center, subsequently no financial commitment from the Junta de Andalucía materializes to address these and other necessary projects for the city.
The municipal executive emphasizes that 'it is not about voting in favor, it is about supporting a proposal and then having the economic resources appear'. They add that 'unfortunately, the government of PP and Vox in the Junta de Andalucía is not showing any gesture towards Chiclana to adequately serve the city'. They criticize that, to avoid undermining the opposition councilors, they vote yes but then practice 'I've already forgotten'.
The Municipal Government has reported that it has requested meetings on several occasions with the regional minister and the territorial delegate for Education, as well as up to three times with the minister for Social Inclusion. To date, they have not received a response but hope to be heard 'for the good of the city of Chiclana'.
