The municipality of Prado del Rey, located in the Sierra de Cádiz, has received final approval for its General Urban Development Plan (PGOU) from the Territorial Commission for Spatial Planning and Urbanism of Cádiz, marking a crucial step for its future development.

The decision was made on May 11 during a meeting of the Territorial Commission for Spatial Planning and Urbanism (CTOTU), held in the provincial capital. This autonomous body has validated the new urban planning for the mountain municipality, concluding a lengthy administrative process.
The agreement allows the Prado del Rey City Council to have its PGOU definitively approved, after incorporating the modifications and rectifications previously requested by the commission. These corrections were integrated into the compliance document of the previous agreement, along with the relevant sectoral reports.
The PGOU is a fundamental tool that regulates the urban planning of a municipality, defining land classification, permitted uses, and guidelines for future urban development. With this approval, Prado del Rey's planning is formally validated under the current autonomous regulatory framework.
The processing of the document has been carried out in accordance with the Andalusian Urban Planning Law (LOUA) and is covered by the transitional provision of the Law for the Promotion of Territorial Sustainability in Andalusia (LISTA), the current regulation governing urbanism in the autonomous community.
The CTOTU session was attended by the delegate of the Junta's Government in the province, as well as the general director of Spatial Planning, Urbanism, and Urban Agenda. Territorial delegates from various ministries and technical staff also attended, highlighting the importance of this planning instrument for the municipality's future.
