The Festival of Nations of Olvera, which will take place in the heart of the municipality's historic quarter, specifically in the square located between the Arab castle and the Church of the Incarnation, aims to strengthen the event's connection with the town's frontier past. This edition will focus on the coexistence of cultures that have shaped the municipality's history.
The program will include various activities such as parades, a flashmob, musical performances, and a video mapping show titled Olvera, the Gate of Al-Ándalus. The latter will offer a visual journey from the Andalusian era to the Christian period and the present day. The main performance will be by the group Bombai, complemented by the Calamity Rock Band and other musical acts. The venue will also feature a gastronomic area and a leisure space for attendees.
“"This festival aims to contribute to revitalizing the social and cultural life of the municipality, especially after a harsh winter. Olvera has historically been a frontier territory and a meeting point between cultures, an aspect we want to highlight."
The organizers have stressed that the event will combine cultural, musical, and gastronomic content to attract both local residents and visitors from the province. The location in one of the municipality's most emblematic spots seeks to enhance the public's experience and boost Olvera's tourist image.
The festival is thus consolidating its position as one of the most important cultural events of the summer in the Sierra de Cádiz, offering a proposal that merges heritage, music, and tourist promotion in a unique historical setting. This event is a preliminary step towards the commemoration of the 700th anniversary of the Christian conquest of the Andalusian fortress in 1327, an anniversary for which the City Council is already working.
