The mobilization, called by the Grazalema Business Union and other organizations, aims to highlight the negative impact of deteriorating road infrastructure on the daily lives of local residents. The situation has caused problems in school transport, livestock farming, and tourist access, affecting the local economy and quality of life.
According to a business spokesperson, the protest is not directed against any specific individual but is a call for attention to the long-standing neglect of the Sierra's roads. It is noted that the El Boyar road, a main artery, has been closed for almost three months, and the Tinte bridge is out of use, significantly extending travel times.
For dignified roads. For safe mobility. For school transport for all.
Demonstrators have also requested a comprehensive paving plan for the roads connecting to Ubrique, Benamahoma, and El Bosque. It has been pointed out that the El Boyar road has not received significant intervention in approximately thirty years, beyond urgent, punctual repairs.
Currently, the A-372 section towards Benamahoma has 26 points requiring urgent action, and access to Villaluenga is expected to be affected for several more weeks. This situation prevents tourist buses from entering and makes it difficult for students, who must rely on private vehicles to reach their schools.
