The town of Grazalema in Cadiz has organized its Main Fair and Festivities, taking place from August 21st to 24th. This marks a return to normalcy after a challenging winter due to a series of storms. The festive events feature concerts, bullfighting, and a popular paella, offering moments of community gathering for residents.
As a prelude to the festivities, the City Council has organized a recognition ceremony this Thursday at 8:00 PM in Plaza de España. This tribute will honor all individuals and groups who actively collaborated during the emergency situations caused by the intense storms in February.
Friday, August 21st, will mark the official start of the fair with the lighting of the festive illuminations. In the evening, the attractions will open, and the first musical performances will take place at the municipal stand in Los Asomaderos and the Verbena «El Tajo». Additionally, the patron saint, Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles, will be moved in a religious procession from her hermitage to the parish church.
On Saturday, August 22nd, the daytime fair will liven up the town's establishments and squares. In the afternoon, the traditional release of young bulls through the streets will occur. The night will be filled with major concerts and dances by orchestras on the two main stages.
Sunday, August 23rd, will feature a popular paella and free gastronomic tastings of typical mountain dishes for all attendees. The afternoon will continue with fun costume dances for children and adults, adding color to the fairgrounds, followed by musical performances at the municipal stand.
The closing day, Monday, August 24th, will include final community gatherings, recreational activities, and sports competitions for the youth. The afternoon will bring more bull releases and entertainment at the stands, with the festivities concluding with a final evening celebration at the «El Tajo» terrace.
