Agents of the Civil Guard arrested a resident of Espera on May 7, after discovering a hidden marijuana plantation in their home. During the search, 122 cannabis plants, each 1.2 meters tall, were found, totaling 25.4 kilograms.
In addition to the plantation, it was confirmed that the artificial lighting system required for cultivation was illegally connected to the public street lighting, constituting an electricity fraud offense.
The investigation, carried out by the Research Area of the Main Post of Arcos de la Frontera, began several months ago after receiving information about possible illicit activity in a local residence. Inquiries revealed that the arrested individual used a rear entrance, concealed between their house and their mother's, to access the property and avoid detection.
The judicial search on May 7 confirmed suspicions, finding a room converted into an indoor greenhouse with plants in full bloom. Furthermore, another room was discovered fully prepared to house a future marijuana plantation. The arrested person and the seized drugs have been placed at the disposal of the Duty Court of Arcos de la Frontera.
