The incident occurred this Wednesday on rural paths in Umbrete, along a livestock trail during the special operation for the return of the brotherhoods. The woman, who was riding pillion on a horse, suffered a severe fall that caused multiple traumas and possible fractures.
Agents from the Seprona unit of the Guardia Civil, who were patrolling the area, were the first to assist the victim. After an initial assessment by medical personnel from the 061 emergency service, which determined the potential severity of the injuries, it was decided to immobilize her for aerial evacuation.
Due to the difficulty of ground access and the need to expedite assistance, a medical helicopter from the 061 landed nearby to evacuate the injured woman. The operation was successful, and the patient was transferred to the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital in Seville.
The efficiency and speed of the joint operation between the Guardia Civil and health services allowed the affected person to be attended to in a complicated environment.
The operation highlighted the coordination between emergency services, which helped restore normality on the paths shortly after the incident. The presence of the Seprona is part of the deployment to ensure the safety of pilgrims and protect the natural environment and animal welfare during the transit of the brotherhoods.
