The Academy of Social and Environmental Sciences of Andalusia has welcomed three new members: Rocío Medina, José Manuel Domínguez, and José Rodríguez de la Borbolla, recognized for their contributions.

The Plenary of the Academy, presided over by Antonio Pascual, approved the appointment of the new academicians on June 12th, recognizing their significant merits in the institution's fields of interest. The decision followed the approval of the budgets and the activity plan for the second half of the year.
Rocío Medina, a businesswoman from Seville and executive president of Grupo Medina, a benchmark in Andalusia's agri-food sector, brings over 30 years of experience. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Banco de Alimentos de Sevilla Foundation and director of AMMDE. She received the Medal of Seville for economic and business impulse in 2026.

He has held positions such as Minister of Governance, Vice-President, and President of the Regional Government of Andalusia, as well as being a senator and permanent counselor of the Consultative Council of Andalusia.
The Academy brings together personalities from the business, scientific, cultural, university, and media sectors, being the first with territorial scope throughout the Autonomous Community of Andalusia. Its objectives include the study, research, promotion, application, and dissemination of social, economic, business, and environmental sciences.
