The solidarity initiative, jointly organized by the City Council of Ronda, the Association of Brotherhoods and Confraternities of Ronda, Cáritas Interparroquial Ronda, and the Damas Goyescas, took place on August 27th at the Convento de Santo Domingo. The event was attended by over 150 people and supported by citizens and companies through the 'fila 0' (donation line) and prize raffles.
The funds raised, amounting to almost 3,000 euros, will be used to support the aid that the Church is providing to those affected in Venezuela. The mayor highlighted the solidarity of the people of Ronda and the importance of combining festivals and culture with charitable actions.
At the handover ceremony, held at the Cáritas in Ronda headquarters, were Carlos Ramírez, president of the Association of Brotherhoods, and Andrés Ruz, head of Cáritas. The mayor also thanked the work of Milagros Naranjo, President of the Damas Goyescas, and the ladies Ana Vázquez Huesa, María del Mar Vela Bravo, María Sánchez Naranjo, Lucía Crespillo Martín, Paula Lara Campos, Lucía Becerra Serrano, and Ana Carrión Jiménez.
