Despite initial forecasts pointing to extreme temperatures, neither the airport nor Hinojosa del Duque reached the necessary threshold to declare a heatwave in the province of Córdoba. The special alerts from AEMET concluded without the criteria being met.
The weather station in Hinojosa del Duque recorded 39.9 ºC on Wednesday the 22nd, but this figure was not repeated or exceeded over the three consecutive days required by AEMET to consider an episode of "heatwave". At the airport station, maximum temperatures did not even reach 41 ºC.
The hottest area in the province was, once again, located in Vega Armijo, in the Alto Guadalquivir. Up to 42.2 ºC were measured there on Wednesday the 22nd, at a station situated between Montoro and Villa del Río.
