Residents of Plaza del Cronista, located in the Casco Antiguo district of Seville, have expressed deep concern over the recent installation of ten urban waste containers. The accumulation of garbage has led to unbearable odors and the proliferation of rodent pests, creating a public health hazard in the historic center.
The residents' primary concern is safety. The placement of the containers effectively blocks access to the square, preventing emergency vehicles such as fire trucks and ambulances from entering. "If there is a fire or a serious medical emergency in one of the buildings, rescue services will not be able to pass. We are talking about human lives at risk due to poor urban planning," laments one of the neighborhood spokespersons.
The affected parties are demanding that the City of Seville and the municipal cleaning company, Lipasam, immediately remove or consensually relocate the containers. They warn that if a satisfactory response is not received in the coming days, they will initiate a schedule of visible protests and mobilizations in the square.
