The Andalusian capital not only serves as a backdrop but is integrated as a fundamental element in the plot of Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine. The choice of Seville responds to a conscious narrative decision by the creators, who sought a city that embodied the beauty, passion, and joy characterizing the new season.
Filming took place in two phases, over several weeks in February and July 2025, using emblematic locations such as the Triana Bridge, the Palace of the Marquis of La Motilla, the Patio de Banderas with views of the Giralda, the Faculty of Fine Arts, and the surroundings of the Guadalquivir River and the Torre del Oro.
“"Seville very well represents the plot of this season: Berlin's love story with a character who embodies what Seville is: beauty, passion, fury, wildness, and joy."
The global premiere of the season took place in the city itself, with a red carpet event at Las Setas and a locations tour organized in collaboration with the Seville Film Office. This tour, available in several languages from May 15th, aims to attract film tourism, using the series as an appeal and the city as a destination.
The plot of this second installment, titled Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine, centers on a heist that conceals a more complex and personal plan, introducing a darker tone than the first season. Despite this shift, the series maintains its entertainment focus, blending genres such as vaudeville, thriller, and white-collar crime, with a visual ambition highlighted by its creators.
The incorporation of new characters and the return of the original cast, including Keila, Damián, Cameron, Roi, and Bruce, promise a more varied and festive season. The series is part of Netflix's strategy to bet on Andalusia as a setting for its high-budget productions, leveraging its heritage, favorable climate, and a consolidated local audiovisual industry.
