The AP-4, a crucial route connecting to Sevilla, has been entirely blocked at kilometer marker 64 due to a severe incident. The crash obstructs traffic heading north, exclusively affecting lanes in that direction. Authorities have implemented mandatory diversions for all vehicles to prevent widespread traffic collapse.
The severity of the collision necessitated immediate intervention from emergency services, including a medical helicopter that landed directly on the highway to attend to and evacuate the injured. The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) has confirmed the total closure of the road in the affected section, deploying patrols to rigorously signpost alternative routes.
Drivers heading to Sevilla are required to exit the highway before the critical point, following instructions from deployed personnel. The resulting traffic standstill has already caused jams stretching several kilometers in the province of Cádiz. Security services recommend using alternative routes such as the N-4.
“"We prioritize immediate medical assistance and the safe evacuation of those affected before reopening traffic."
Maintenance crews are working intensely to remove the involved vehicles and clear the road. Technicians anticipate that restoration tasks may extend over the next few hours due to the gravity of the situation.
