During a meeting with militants and sympathizers in San Fernando, Sanz stressed the PP's "very strong commitment" to the San Carlos Hospital, highlighting its strengthening in healthcare assistance for the province of Cádiz. The candidate provided data on the center's evolution, which transitioned from a military facility to being integrated into Andalusian public healthcare in 2014.
“"Our very strong commitment to the San Carlos hospital is clear, with the promotion and strengthening of its role in healthcare assistance in the province of Cádiz."
Sanz criticized previous management, stating that the PSOE left the hospital in a state of "maximum abandonment and ruin." In contrast, he highlighted that under the PP administration, the hospital has experienced "historic advances," with 98% of its facilities remodeled and renovated. Since 2019, the Junta de Andalucía has invested 13 million euros in San Carlos, which, according to Sanz, demonstrates San Fernando's importance to Juanma Moreno's government.
Among the improvements, the candidate mentioned the expansion of operating rooms from one to five, an increase in surgical specialties from seven to 16, and medical specialties from 14 to 23. The Ophthalmology Unit has become a national and Andalusian reference after a 720,000 euro investment. Furthermore, the Mental Health Unit, with a 945,000 euro investment, has already reached 60% completion, with plans to increase consultations from nine to 15 and separate child and adult care.
Beyond the hospital, Sanz recalled the recent opening of the Camposoto health center, the fourth in the city, which serves approximately 30,000 people. This facility was inaugurated by him on March 19. Finally, the candidate reported that the PP's Junta has invested 74.4 million euros in San Fernando during the current term, with 10.4 million allocated to the Ministry of Public Works, 11.4 million to the Ministry of Inclusion, and 5.1 million for school repairs.
